Research Focus
The department of Clinical Chemistry at the Medical School, University of Crete focuses in:
  1. Cutting edge research in the following areas:
    1. regulation of macrophage activation and inactivation in inflammation and cancer,
    2. metabolic inflammation and obesity,
    3. role of neuropeptides in adipose tissue, adrenal, immune system and skin physiology,
    4. skin physiology and wound healing,
    5. pain perception
    6. miRNAs as biomarkers


  2. Delivery of state-of-the-art Clinical Chemistry services for the University Hospital of Heraklio at the Clinical Chemistry-Biochemistry laboratory located at the University hospital of Heraklio.
